Pendapatan Operasi Semester Pertama Yamaha Motor Naik 62%

Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. (Tokyo: 7272) mengumumkan pada 5 Agustus pendapatan
operasi terkonsolidasinya pada semester pertama Januari-Juni naik 62,4% menjadi
49,1 miliar yen, atau sekitar 480 juta (USD), dari tahun sebelumnya. Perusahaan
ini sekarang memperkirakan pendapatan operasi setidaknya 80 miliar yen
sepanjang tahun ini, setahun lebih awal dari yang semula ditargetkan menurut
rencana bisnisnya untuk tahun 2013-2015.

Penjualan bersih naik 7,6% menjadi 756 miliar yen, dengan peningkatan tercatat
di semua segmen bisnis perusahaan. Pendapatan biasa naik 60,6% menjadi 49,1
miliar yen dan laba bersih naik 57,6% menjadi 32,2 miliar yen.

Lonjakan besar dalam pendapatan operasi mencerminkan penjualan kuat sepeda
motor dan produk untuk penggunaan di laut (marine products) di pasar negara
maju. Marine products bermodel besar (large-model) telah terjual baik dan
penjualan sepeda motor telah pulih jauh lebih baik dari yang diharapkan.

Yamaha Motor meluncurkan produk secara agresif di setiap segmen bisnis – sepeda
motor, marine products, produk pembangkit listrik, mesin industri dan robotika.
Reformasi organisasi mengalami kemajuan, termasuk perampingan produksi dalam
negeri dan struktur bisnis di Eropa, serta pengurangan biaya. Perkiraan
penjualan bersih setahun penuh tetap tidak berubah yakni 1.500 miliar yen.
Peningkatan penjualan marine products dan sepeda motor di pasar negara maju
diharapkan akan mengimbangi penurunan penjualan sepeda motor di Thailand dan
Vietnam.

Selama kuartal kedua, yen Jepang diperdagangkan senilai 102 yen terhadap dolar
AS, depresiasi tahunan sebesar 6 yen, dan 140 yen terhadap euro, depresiasi
sebesar 14 yen.

Yamaha Motor’s 1st Half Operating Income Soars 62%

-Expects to Reach 80b Yen Annual Target One Year Ahead of Schedule –

Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. (Tokyo: 7272) announced on August 5 its consolidated operating income in the January-June first half surged 62.4% to 49.1 billion yen, or about 480 million (USD), from the previous year. The company is now forecasting operating income of at least 80 billion yen for the current full year, one year earlier than originally targeted under its 2013-2015 business plan.

Net sales rose 7.6% to 756 billion yen, with increases recorded in all business segments of the company. Ordinary income surged 60.6% to 49.1 billion yen and net income rose a brisk 57.6% to 32.2 billion yen.

The large jump in operating income reflects strong sales of motorcycles and marine products in developed markets. Large-model marine products have sold especially well and motorcycle sales have recovered even better than expected.

Yamaha Motor is launching products aggressively in each of business segments – motorcycles, marine products, power products, industrial machinery and robotics. Organizational reforms are progressing, including the streamlining of domestic production and European business structure, as well as cost reductions.The full-year forecast for net sales remains unchanged at 1,500 billion yen. Increased sales of marine products and motorcycles in developed markets are expected to compensate for decreased sales of motorcycles in Thailand and Vietnam.

During the second quarter, the Japanese yen traded at 102 yen to the U.S. dollar, a year-on-year depreciation of 6 yen, and 140 yen to the euro, a depreciation of 14 yen.
